Welcome to The Scott County Election Commission

Located in Huntsville, TN,  the County Election Commission is responsible for conducting all federal, state and municipal elections in Scott county. All elections are held in compliance with State and Federal election laws. Other responsibilities include voter registration, candidate qualification, candidate petitions, legal notices, campaign financial record maintenance, ballot preparation, poll worker training, and voting machine maintenance.  The Administrator of Elections is appointed by the County Election Commission.  The current Administrator of Elections is Gabe Krahn. 

NOTICE OF ELECTION

PUBLIC NOTICE FOR ONEIDA CITY VOTERS

 

An election will be held at the Oneida City Municipal Building, in Oneida, Tennessee on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2023, for the following offices:

Mayor (1)

Alderpersons (4)

 

Any other office as required by law

 

 

Deadline to Register to vote is Thursday, OCTOBER 5, 2023.  Any voter registration form mailed to the Election Commission Office must be postmarked no later than October 5, 2023.

 

PUBLIC NOTICE TO ELDERLY VOTERS AND VOTERS

WITH DISABILITIES

 

Voters 60 years of age or older and voters with disabilities have the right to choose one of the following methods of voting if your precinct is inaccessible to you:

·      Absentee-By-Mail Ballot.  However, if you originally registered to vote by Mail, you must vote IN PERSON the first time you vote.  To vote an absentee ballot by-mail the voter must make the request in writing and include their name (as registered), date of birth, social security number, residence address (911 address), mailing address (if different from residence address), the election they wish to vote in, the reason they are requesting to vote an absentee ballot and their signature.  The written request must be received by mail no later than October 28, 2023.

·      In person during the Early Voting period.  Remember to bring your ID.

·  At the Election Commission office on Election Day.  If voting in this manner, you must complete an affidavit, in person, at the Scott County Election Commission Office no later than October 28, 2023, stating that your voting precinct does not meet the requirements of the Disability Act.

 

The Early Voting period for the November 4, 2023 Election will be October 16–October 30, 2023.

The following information is being provided for those voters residing within the Town of Oneida and in conjunction with the November 4, 2023, Municipal Election

·  Early Voting will ONLY be conducted at the

Oneida Municipal Building, 121 Municipal Drive, Oneida, TN

 

·  Early Voting dates and times for the Town of Oneida Election:

             Monday, October 16-      10AM – 2PM            Monday, October 23 -   10AM – 2PM

             Tuesday, October 17-      10AM – 6PM            Tuesday, October 24 -   10AM – 6PM

       Wednesday, October 18 -   10AM – 2PM        Wednesday, October 25 -   10AM – 2PM

·       ALL voters must bring photo ID with them to vote early or on Election Day.

 

·   Voters who have moved/changed addresses or made a name change should contact the Election Commission Office for information regarding the procedure to update voter registration records.
